Dorchester Civic Society Talks Programme 2022

Civic Pride and Place-Making: The Salisbury Perspective
with guest speakers Stephanie
Siddons-Deighton and Richard Deane

WEDNESDAY 8th JUNE, 6:30-8:00PM

LOCATION: In-Person at the Dorford Centre and Online via Zoom

We are delighted to welcome Stephanie Siddons-Deighton and Richard Deane, Chair and Vice-Chair of Salisbury Civic Society, as the guest speakers at our last evening talk of the 2021-22 season.

Salisbury City Centre has suffered from two major ‘traumas’ over the last few years. No sooner had the impacts of the 2018 Novichok attack eased, then the COVID pandemic entered stage left. Dealing with these significant events and maintaining the economic, social and environmental health of the City has been a collective effort. Stephanie and Richard will provide an overview of the programme of activity that has tried to address the problems faced by Salisbury and the role of the Civic Society in maintaining and developing civic pride and the quality of the City as a place to live, work and play.

Stephanie has been Chair of the Salisbury Civic Society for the past year and was previously responsible for Comms & Outreach.

Richard has been a member of the Society for 37 years and is Secretary of the Development team.

Our Talks Programme is open to all. Visitors and new members are very welcome. Talks are free for DCS Members and £3 for Non-Members to help cover costs.

As part of our 2022 Talks Programme, we will be offering our evening talks in hybrid format.
